She was a tall, thin black tart. But she was still a lady-and only George, the tough, naive ex-con-had the humanity to treat her as such. She earnt her living selling her body: to rich Arabs or perverted businessmen, in swank hotels or on the grim hell of the King's Cross 'meat rack', where even 15-year old's offered their wares for sale. George is hired as her chauffer-and it's hatred on sight. But love moves in strange ways: as animosity thaws a touching, vulnerable friendship develops which deepens into love.
