A reception is being held on the occasion of the publication of a book by Dr Jekyll.
The events unfold during one night in the ostentatious mansion where the London scientist lives and works.
The reception is mysteriously disrupted by a horrible event - the attack and assasination of a young dancer. A murderer is in the house! The monstrous creature, a Mr Hyde, commits the most ghastly acts and then disappears.
